Nepřímá řeč (reported speech), známá také jako nepřímá řeč, se používá k vyjádření toho, co někdo jiný řekl, bez přímých uvozovek.

Co je nepřímá řeč pro příkazy?

Nepřímá řeč pro příkazy nám umožňuje reprodukovat cizí instrukce či požadavky bez doslovných uvozovek. Místo použití imperativu (typického pro přímé příkazy) se v nepřímých příkazech často používají slovesa jako „tell“, „order“ nebo „ask“, následovaná infinitivem slovesa.

Klíčové změny při referování příkazů

Při převodu přímých příkazů do nepřímé řeči dochází k následujícím změnám:

  • Slovesný tvar: Imperativní tvar slovesa (např. „go“, „sit“) se mění na infinitiv (např. „to go“, „to sit“).

Stejně jako u nepřímé řeči pro oznamovací věty a otázky i zde mohou nastat změny časových a místních výrazů. Tyto změny závisejí na kontextu příkazu a době či místě jeho referování.

Časté změny v časových a místních výrazech:

  • Today → that day

  • Tomorrow → the next day

  • Yesterday → the day before

  • Here → there

Příklady:

  • Přímá: She said, "Come here tomorrow."

  • Nepřímá: She told me to go there the next day.

Zvláštní případy v nepřímé řeči pro příkazy

Někdy je možné převádět příkazy zdvořilejším či nepřímějším způsobem, zejména pokud použijeme mírnější referenční slovesa jako „ask“ nebo „suggest“.

Nepřímou řeč lze také využít k předávání obecných instrukcí či pokynů bez přímých uvozovek. Takové instrukce bývají často podány neutrálním tónem, se zaměřením na hlavní úkon.

  • Nepřímá: They told us to submit the form by Friday.
