Přivlastňovací zájmena: My, Your, His, Her, Its, Our, Their

Přivlastňovací zájmena (possessive adjectives) říkají, komu něco patří.

Jednotné číslo (singular):

  • my – můj

  • your – tvůj / váš

  • his – jeho (pro muže)

  • her – její

  • its – jeho (pro zvířata a věci)

Množné číslo (plural):

  • our – náš

  • their – jejich

Příklady:

  • My name is Tom. (Mé jméno je Tom.)

  • Your car is red. (Tvé/Vaše auto je červené.)

  • His phone is new. (Jeho telefon je nový.)

  • Her bag is on the chair. (Její taška je na židli.)

  • Its tail is long. (Jeho ocas je dlouhý. – např. u psa)

  • Our house is big. (Náš dům je velký.)

  • Their children are happy. (Jejich děti jsou šťastné.)

Použití "my" a "our"

  • My brother is a student. (Můj bratr je student.)

  • Our school is near the park. (Naše škola je blízko parku.)

Použití "your" a "their"

  • Your book is on the table. (Tvoje/Vaše kniha je na stole.)

  • Their car is very fast. (Jejich auto je velmi rychlé.)

Použití "his", "her", "its"

  • His name is John. (Jeho jméno je John.)

  • Her name is Anna. (Její jméno je Anna.)

  • The dog is eating its food. (Pes jí své jídlo.)

Speciální případy

  • That's my friend! (To je můj kamarád! – zdůraznění.)

  • It’s his problem, not mine. (To je jeho problém, ne můj.)
