The Four Seasons

Spring (jaro) – The season after winter when flowers begin to grow.

Summer (léto) – The warmest season of the year, after spring.

Autumn / Fall (podzim) – The season after summer when leaves fall from trees.

Winter (zima) – The coldest season of the year, after autumn.

Season (roční období) – One of the four periods of the year (spring, summer, autumn, winter).

Weather (počasí) – The condition of the air, such as sun, rain, or wind.

Year (rok) – A period of 12 months.

Month (měsíc) – One of the 12 periods a year is divided into (e.g., January).

Week (týden) – A period of seven days.

Day (den) – A period of 24 hours.

Weather Nouns

Sun (slunce) – The star that gives us light and heat.

Cloud (mrak) – A white or grey mass in the sky made of water drops.

Rain (déšť) – Water that falls from clouds in the sky.

Snow (sníh) – Soft, white pieces of frozen water that fall from the sky.

Wind (vítr) – Moving air.

Fog (mlha) – A thick cloud close to the ground that is hard to see through.

Storm (bouře) – Very bad weather with strong wind and rain or snow.

Ice (led) – Water that is frozen and solid.

Sky (obloha) – The space above the Earth where you see clouds and the sun.

Sunny (slunečno) – When there is a lot of sun.

Windy (větrno) – When the wind is blowing hard.
